The morning star, rising far,

Like the blossom of the dawn

The morning star,

Don’t you know what a night,

Had my eyes!

If you know you’ll never rise,

On to me.

This falling room, these nearing walls,

On my eyes,

You morning star,

Don’t you know what they are!

How I see you as night falls,

In this chamber all with walls,

As, I know, goes the night,

Don’t ask me how, when & why,

I close my eyes & there you are,

A bright flashing rising star,

Up the north & in a while,

You’ve stopped rising, then you fall

& just like us, as you fall,

And you set before my eyes,

Your glow fades,

And your glimmer shies.
